The Book Shop of Beverly Farms
Beverly, MA
The Book Shop of Beverly Farms has been a home for book lovers to gather since its founding in 1968. Most recently, Pam Price and Lee Simonds Brown, who had owned and operated the Shop for more than two decades, decided to retire in the fall of 2019. Nearby, Hannah Harlow, a long-time executive with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, was in the market for a book store. It was too good to be true. As she extolled the Shop's virtues over Thanksgiving dinner, Hannah's brother, Sam Pfeifle, decided he wanted in. All of a sudden, they were business partners. On Feb. 2, 2020, the Book Shop of Beverly Farms re-opened after a brief hiatus with a new inventory system, a fresh coat of paint, and the same basic mission the Shop has always had: To be home for anyone in the area who loves books, reading, authors, and, well, talking about books, reading, and authors. Stop in, ask for a recommendation, or just browse around. We look forward to seeing you!
