Co-owners Carol Hoenig and Peggy Zieran are two former Borders Books employees with a combined thirty-five years’ experience in the book business. They had always wanted to open a bookstore, but for years realized the time wasn’t ideal. Then, after much research, they started to see how independent bookstores were making a comeback and thought, now or never.

Fast forward to Turn of the Corkscrew, Books & Wine in Rockville Centre. Carol and Peggy are thrilled to have seen their hard work and planning come to fruition, and appreciate the enthusiastic response from the community. They enjoy helping their patrons discover new authors or selecting that perfect gift, from candles, literary T-shirts, canvas bags and more. They also are pleased that people enjoy the ambiance of their café while sipping on a glass of wine or a pint of cold craft beer.
