When we bought the store in September 2019, we knew immediately we would name our store Honest Dog Books. As longtime mushers, we have known many honest dogs, a term meant to distinguish those dogs who work hard, dig in, never give up (think Togo).

That’s us and that’s the type of service we promise.

Our emphasis reflects our interests—adventure, dogsledding, nature, memoir, regional and Anishinabe history and literature along with our backbone of classic children, current, LGBTQ, and young adult fiction. Plus a whole lot more!
