We're a cosy independent bookshop in Ambleside, the heart of the English Lake District. Though we are small, we are mighty and well curated! We offer a next day ordering service in store as well as an online shop for home delivery and audiobooks through Libro.fm.

Est. 1956 we have decades of experience selling maps, guides and books. We're a quirky bunch and love to welcome browsers to our shop and followers on social media.
