We welcome you to visit us in Downtown Salinas - the historic center for arts culture and cuisine located in the Steinbeck District of town. We are open 7 days a week for a convenient and comfortable book browsing experience between 11am and 8pm. We feature gently used and new titles in a wide variety of genres - over 60,000 books for all ages and interests. Downtown Book & Sound is also a big fan of music, hosting “listening opportunities” every week, plus a carefully curated section of vinyl, great selection of CDs and even cassette tapes. If we don’t have something you want in stock, we can order it for you - fast! Reading is an important pass time - it helps people to unplug and slow down.
