“Long Shot is the first of Kennedy Ryan's HOOPS trilogy, which follows three couples. This is by far my favorite of the three. There are two narrators for each main character, but I would highly suggest reading trigger warnings on the book before picking this up. It follows Iris and August, who can't be together as Iris is married to an (abusive) husband who just so happens to be August's work rival. It highlights the painful issues women face when in a domestic abuse relationship, but is gentle when it comes to the blossoming romance. Kennedy Ryan puts so much care into her work, and it shows in this one. A must read for anyone into emotional, thought-provoking romance. ”
