Cats and women share many traits: beauty, elegance, sensitivity, affectionate natures, a knack for nurturing and a love of the luxurious.

Then there are the qualities cats possess that women long to emulate: fighting fiercely to protect themselves, never saying yes when they mean no, and being unafraid to claim the best seat in the house. Cats are loyal to those who love them but couldnโ€™t give a toss about what others think. They donโ€™t suffer self-esteem issues or worry if theyโ€™re overweight. And then there is their air of mystery, that slinky walk โ€ฆ oh to be a cat!

Belinda Alexandra, writer and ardent cat lover, makes no apology for celebrating the bond between women and their cats. In The Divine Feline, she shares her own experiences, looks back at the relationship between women and cats throughout history and solves behavioural questions in a whimsical and practical way. Viva la cat lady!

Belinda Alexandra has been published to international acclaim. She is the daughter of a Russian mother and an Australian father, and has been an intrepid traveller since her youth. Her love of other cultures and languages is matched by her passion for her home country, Australia, where she is a volunteer rescuer and carer for the NSW Wildlife Information and Rescue Service (WIRES).

Izabella Yena is a stage and screen actress. In 2016, she graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts and received the Patricia Kennedy Award for Excellence. In 2018, she was a Malthouse Theatre Vanguard Cohort and Ambassador. Izabella made her feature film debut in Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears, playing the role of Shirin Abbas.
