Learn moreIn his latest book, Mémé's Famous Crêpes, Theodore A. Perry (a.k.a. Tony Perry) tells the endearing story about his meme's crêpes, and how making them with her is one of his fondest childhood memories. Mémé
(pronounced may-may) and crêpes are French Canadian words for grandmother and pancakes, and in these pages the whole family can delight in an amusing and sweet story, in both English and French! Cuddle up with your little ones and (re-)learn some French together, and while you're at it, enjoy the whimsical and fun watercolor-collage illustrations by artist Tone Flavin in the print version of the book. You will soon feel inspired to make crêpes, and to help you get going, there's an easy-to-follow recipe included at the end of the book. Bon appétit!
Theodore A. Perry hails from upcountry Maine and lives in the Midcoast area. He holds a B.A. summa cum laude from Bowdoin College, an M.A. in French and a Ph.D. in Romance Studies both from Yale University. He has published thirteen books on literature and philosophy, and he loves collecting yarns for his ongoing "Perry Home Companion." When Perry is not at his desk writing away, you can find him in the garden, tending, or conversing with, his tomatoes. If it's winter, he'll be at work planning next season's gardening activities.
