I so enjoyed Dolly Parton's voice come out in this story as Ruthanna Ryder and also in the overall arc as the book delves into the country music industry. I listened to the book on Libro.fm while on a road trip from Minnesota to Georgia so also had the fun of actually hearing Dolly read Ruthanna's lines. My road trip plans did not include a stop in Nashville but once I got into the book I decided I MUST make a detour so stopped in Nashville to further soak up the story of Run, Rose, Run.”

“Thank you to Libro.fm for the ALC! Run, Rose, Run is about an aspiring country music artist who travels to Nashville to pursue her dreams. While on the rise, she begins to find her past creeping up on her, and must figure out what to do to survive. I absolutely adored this book! I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it. I hadn’t read anything by James Patterson before, but I’m a huge Dolly Parton fan, so I decided to try this and it exceeded my expectations. The audiobook was amazing (Dolly herself even narrated one of the characters) but I know that the print would be just as good. Fans of Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Rachel Hawkins, will love this book! ”

“What a fun read! I knew anything Dolly Parton participated in would have to be good, and since I have enjoyed many books by James Patterson in the past I expected Run, Rose, Run to be an enjoyable read. What I didn’t expect was how big a part Dolly Parton must have had in writing the book because it was a close up look at what it takes to be a star in Nashville and what the life of a country singer is like. There was some mystery and there were some pretty intense action scenes, but the main story was all about the music. The characters were fascinating, and I assume were based in part on Dolly and on people she has known, and the book was filled with songwriting and lyrics to songs that I assume will be on the album that Dolly is making to go along with the book. The story was made even more enjoyable by the fact that I listened to the audio and having Dolly Parton doing the voice of RuthAnna and Kelsea Ballerini doing the voice of AnnieLee. I can't wait until the album based on songs from the book is released!”
