Random House presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of The Miracle of Mindfulness by Thich Nhat Hanh, read by John Sackville.

‘The Father of Mindfulness’ - Irish Times

‘The first book to awaken a mainstream readership to the subject of mindfulness – a testimony to the power of Thich Nhat Hanh’s elegant and profound teaching.’ - Jon Kabat-Zinn, author of Full Catastrophe Living

In this beautifully written book, Buddhist monk and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Thich Nhat Hanh explains how to acquire the skills of mindfulness. Once we have these skills, we can slow our lives down and discover how to live in the moment - even simple acts like washing the dishes or drinking a cup of tea may be transformed into acts of meditation.

Thich Nhat Hanh's gentle anecdotes and practical exercises help us to arrive at greater self-understanding and peacefulness, whether we are beginners or advanced students. Irrespective of our particular religious beliefs, we can begin to reap the immense benefits that meditation has been scientifically proven to offer. We can all learn how to be mindful and experience the miracle of mindfulness for ourselves.

‘Shows us the connection between personal, inner peace and peace on earth’ - His Holiness the Dalai Lama

Born in Hue, Vietnam, Thich Nhat Hanh was a Buddhist Zen Master, poet, scholar and human rights activist. In 1967, he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Martin Luther King. He founded the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon, the School of Youth and Social Service and the Plum Village Buddhist community and meditation centre in France, where he lived for many years. He was the author of many acclaimed books including The Miracle of Mindfulness, Old Path White Clouds and Fear, which have sold millions of copies around the world. In 2018, he returned to Vietnam to live at the Tu Hieu Temple, where he was first ordained when he was sixteen years old. He died on 22 January 2022, at the age of 95.

Thich Nhat Hanh's ideas for peace, if applied, would build a monument to ecumenism, to world brotherhood, to humanity. The father of mindfulness One of the best available introductions to the wisdom and beauty of meditation practice. He has immense presence and both personal and Buddhist authority. If there is a candidate for 'Living Buddha' on earth today, it is Thich Nhat Hanh. [Thich Nhat Hanh] shows us the connection between personal, inner peace and peace on earth Expand reviews
