This is the story of James Leininger, who—a little more than two weeks after his second birthday—began having blood-curdling nightmares that just would not stop. When James began screaming out recurring phrases like "Plane on fire! Little man can't get out!" the Leiningers finally admitted that they truly had to take notice.

When details of planes and war tragedies no two-year-old boy could know continued—even in stark daylight—Bruce and Andrea Leininger began to realize that this was an incredible situation. Soul Survivor is the story of how the Leiningers pieced together what their son was communicating and eventually discovered that he was reliving the past life of World War II fighter pilot James Huston. As Bruce Leininger struggled to understand what was happening to his son, he also uncovered details of James Huston's life—and death—as a pilot that will fascinate military buffs everywhere.

In Soul Survivor, we are taken for a gripping ride as the Leiningers' belief system is shaken to the core and both of these families come to know a little boy who, against all odds and even in the face of true skeptics, harbors the soul of this man who died long ago.

Ken Gross served in the army for three years before becoming a journalist. He was an investigative reporter and a columnist before becoming an author. He has written or ghostwritten sixteen books, including The Victims, The Verdict, and I Got The Show Right Here. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Andrea.

Andrea Leininger pursued a professional ballet career after high school, dancing for ten years with various companies across the country. Her dance career took her to Dallas, Texas, where she met and married Bruce Leininger. After retiring from ballet, Andrea transitioned into a general accounting career, which she enjoyed until the birth of her son James in 1998, when she left work to become a full-time wife and mother. Andrea and her husband currently reside in Lafayette, Louisiana, and own their own human resources consulting business, Accelerated Performance Resources, LLC, for which she serves as a professional resume writer. She is also a gifted ballet teacher and enjoys teaching master classes for dance schools across the country, as well as serving as ballet director for Dance Graphics in Lafayette.

Bruce Leininger graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and earned an MA from Columbia University Graduate School. In 1990 he relocated to Dallas, Texas. There he met and married Andrea Scoggin. Career transitions took them to San Francisco, California, where their son James was born in 1998. They currently reside in Lafayette, Louisiana. Bruce is currently a busy corporate executive, working as both president of Accelerated Performance Resources, LLC, a human resources consulting company he founded in 2002, and as director of Human Resources for Rotorcraft Leasing Company.

Paul Boehmer attended his first Shakespearean play while in high school; he knew then that he was destined to become the classically trained actor he is today. Graduating with a master's degree, Paul was cast as Hamlet by the very stage actor who inspired his career path. A nod from the Universe he'd chosen aright! Paul has worked on Broadway and extensively in regional theater. Coinciding with another of his passions, sci-fi, Paul has been cast in various roles in many episodes of Star Trek. Paul's love of literature and learning led him by nature to his work as a narrator for audiobooks, his latest endeavour. Paul is married to the love of his life, Offir, and they live in Los Angeles with their two midnight-rambling tomcats, Dread and David.
