“I am an unabashed Mel Brooks fan, and this is everything that I wanted and more! Mel narrates his life in great and fantastic detail, from his earliest memories growing up in Brooklyn to all his Hollywood exploits and beyond. His wit and warmth exude throughout, and his stories encapsulate his long list of pranks, one of kind adventures, and deep friendships with talented artists. This is not to be missed if you love Mel's movies, old Hollywood, or how young underdogs grab life by the horns and live rich and rewarding lives (while lifting up those around them!). ”
— Riona • Books & Books @ The Studios of Key West

He would go on to write, direct, and star in The Producers, The Twelve Chairs, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, and Spaceballs, as well as produce groundbreaking and eclectic films, including The Elephant Man, The Fly, and My Favorite Year. Brooks then went on to conquer Broadway with his record-breaking, Tony-winning musical, The Producers.
