Summary

First novel of Benito Pérez Galdós' Episodios Nacionales (National Episodes), focused in the naval battle of Trafalgar, on October 21, 1805, its background and outcome. In addition, Trafalgar introduces us to the protagonist of most of the first series of the National Episodes, Gabriel de Araceli, a 14-year-old rogue from Cadiz who narrates his own life, and who, after a difficult childhood, enters to serve in the house of a veteran officer of the Navy, whom he will accompany to the combined Spanish-French armada that will face the British fleet commanded by Lord Nelson.
