In a distant realm, a reckless young prodigy plumbs the depths of lost magic and dreams of restoring her family's honor by resurrecting the forbidden art of Mythblade forging. Her plan is unthinkable, her will, unstoppable. Her name is Lorelei.

Meanwhile, back on earth, a smart-mouth teen gets a second chance at life as the caretaker of a dangerous magical storehouse. A storehouse whose most dangerous artifact happens to be the key to mythblade forging. His name is Sam.
