Paris and London on the eve of the French Revolution. This turbulent period is shown through the prism of the fates of a young French aristocrat, an unjustly imprisoned doctor, his daughter, and an English lawyer. After eighteen years spent in the Bastille, Dr. Manette is released. Fortunately, now on English soil, he begins a second life alongside his daughter Lucie. There, the paths of two men intersect: Charles Darnay, who fled from France, and Sydney Carton, a brilliant lawyer, a loner and a drunkard, who will be united by their love for one woman - the doctor's daughter.
