Born in England, Richard Sparks started out as a writer of stage plays, comedy revues and TV, for such shows as Not the Nine o’clock News. On being hired by Columbia Pictures TV, Richard moved with his family to Los Angeles in 1992. He has written libretti for several operas for the Los Angeles Opera, Dallas Opera and the Washington Symphony, both originals and translations of classics. He directed Jack Black in Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. New Rock New Realm is the second of four volumes that Richard has written so far in the New Rock fantasy adventure series.
