Jean-Baptiste Lulli fæddist árið 1633 í Flórens á Ítalíu. Hann var ákveðinn brautryðjandi en hann var fyrsta söngleikjaskáld Frakklands. Aðal hljóðfæri hans var fiðlan en hann lék einnig á gítar frá unga aldri. Lulli flæktist 14 ára gamall til Parísar þar sem tónlistaferill hans hófst. Serían fjallar um helstu tónsnillinga allt frá árunum 1525-1907. Hún er byggð á skrifum Theodórs Árnasonar sem var íslenskur tónlistarmaður. Fjallað er um líf tónskálda og verk þeirra. Bókin kom fyrst út árið 1966.
