But no goal seized is an isolated incident, and Antonio's story is no exception. The Forever Swim is not only a tale of success; it is also the tale of how a hyperactive overweight boy would discover swimming, chase an Olympic dream, attend Stanford, and wade into the tangled web of Mexican politics. In 2009, he received Mexico's National Sports Award, and in 2015, after being inducted into the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, he was named Man of the Year by the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA). After completing the Oceans Seven in 2017, he was once again named WOWSA Man of the Year. He is also the co-author, along with Nora Toledano, of With Each Stroke: The Endless Blue, a book that tells the story of his English Channel swim.
