“This is a fast moving series with a strong female protagonist. The books move through finding magical powers, using powers, and conquering the antagonist. The female characters in this series are strong and independent. There are all the things are you look for in a good magical fantasy novel: intrigue, suspense, character frustration as they learn to hone their skills, and, of course, magic. This is definitely a great listen! The reader uses distinct voices for each character and is consistently fabulous!”

“Akata Witch is a must listen. I loved the way that I could identify each character by their voices that were distinct and different. The story is powerful and Sunny's journey to discover her magical powers is a roller coaster of excitement as she figures out her role in the secret society. It is a must listen! ”
