This introduction to Irish Gaelic for complete beginners focusses on commonly used words and phrases such as greetings, numbers, colors, foods, common adjectives and nouns and basic introduction to grammatical structure in Irish Gaelic. As the course progresses more challenging assignments are included such as understanding an Irish weather forecast, learning common Gaelic expressions, understanding a recipe for soda bread and even, later in the course, a set of appropriate adjectives to describe Irish whiskey. Exercises are used to review prior learning and help you use words in context and form simple Irish Gaelic sentences with recognition of the elements of grammar that underpin them. Two Irish Gaelic speakers are used to help make the language process more engaging and memorable. The course is structured to offer repetition to reinforce learning with lots of opportunities to practice your language skills and engage with the content. Six educational sessions are included and additionally, session 7 and 8 provide a complete review of the vocabulary from the course. This is an ideal was to build a firm foundation of Irish Gaelic with a focus on commonly used words and an early grammar overview. Topics covered include greetings, manners, questions, numbers, answers to question, colors, foods, animals, places, adjectives, common verbs, time (days, months, seasons and other ways to describe time), shapes, senses, conjunctions, rankings, music, parts of the body, positions, the weather, vehicles and describing the future and describing the past. Each of these areas of vocabulary is taught with a focus on commonly used words. There are also some descriptions of typical Gaelic cuisine, climate and expressions to build your understand of the Irish Gaelic culture in addition to learning the language. Once the course is complete you can use sessions 7 and 8 as comprehensive review modules to check your understanding and review progress.
