“4/5 stars The first half of this book was tough, but ultimately I'm glad I stuck it out. Things picked up at the 50% mark and I FLEW through the remainder of the book. I love marriage of convenience, I love 'fake dating', and I love strangers-to-lovers, so this book was obviously a hit for me. I like that CLo are getting their spice back too, I was introduced to them with the Beautiful and Wild Seasons series, and a lot of their recent books lack not only spice but any convincing intimacy. This one, however, hit all the right notes and I found myself really invested in the romance! I do recommend this to fans of Christina Lauren, and for people who are looking for a trope-filled, chaotic, spicy romance.”

“I’m not usually one for contemporary romance but something about this book was different. I loved the family drama and this book will absolutely be #1 on my beach read picks for years to come!”

“I listened to the audiobook of this one and it was such a light, fun, and tender read. I enjoyed the contrast between Anna and Liam and how they gave into their desires for one another. The theme of this book was basically 'eat the rich' and I loved that so much. Marriage of convenience tropes in books is one of my favorites because of the forced proximity that comes with it (and in this case, the one bed trope… as we all know where that leads). I also immensely enjoyed Liam’s character growth in this book and what it took for him to stand up to his truly awful family! ”

“A fake marriage/marriage of convenience between a struggling artist and the unwilling heir of a grocery store tycoon meets the crazy, rich, and toxic family dynamics of Crazy Rich Asians. Buckle up, folks - you are in for one hell of a fun ride! What could be worse than being trapped on a tiny little island for an extravagant wedding with your family and a wife you barely know? As it turns out, marrying for school housing benefits might be the best thing for Anna and Liam. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions, and you will most definitely fall in love with Anna. Such a binge-worthy romance! Juicy, full of drama, and all the spice! The audiobook was super fun! I recommend listening to it on Libro.fm!”

“There’s something special about a book that can make you laugh, aww, roll your eyes, tear up, and stress you out. While the plot followed an expected trope brigade, it was still entirely enjoyable. I loved both of the narrators and would happily listen to more of their works! They did a great job of voicing and emoting for one another.”

Christina Lauren, the instant New York Times bestselling and “reigning romance queens” (PopSugar), returns with a delicious new romance between the buttoned-up heir of a grocery chain and his free-spirited artist ex as they fake their relationship in order to receive a massive inheritance.
Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam “West” Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she’d signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways.
Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance. There’s just one catch.
Due to an antiquated clause in his grandfather’s will, Liam won’t see a penny until he’s been happily married for five years. Just when Liam thinks he’s in the home stretch, pressure mounts from his family to see this mysterious spouse, and he has no choice but to turn to the one person he’s afraid to introduce to his one-percenter parents—his unpolished, not-so-ex-wife.
But in the presence of his family, Liam’s fears quickly shift from whether the feisty, foul-mouthed, paint-splattered Anna can play the part to whether the toxic world of wealth will corrupt someone as pure of heart as his surprisingly grounded and loyal wife. Liam will have to ask himself if the price tag on his flimsy cover story is worth losing true love that sprouted from a lie.
