Written for children, Brigadoon’s Luck is a charming tale, told from the point of view of a dog, Brigadoon. By facing one challenge after another, Brigadoon learns that with a loving heart, persistent spirit, and a little bit of luck, he can achieve success and happiness. An engaging story that will long be remembered, Brigadoon’s Luck will delight both adults and children.

Author Susan Schapiro received her BA degree from Mills College in Oakland, California. After graduate study at Harvard Law School she began a long career teaching philosophy and literature. She earned an MA in Humanities and a PhD in Education. Following many years in which she successfully challenged secondary school students, Dr. Schapiro moved on to the University at Buffalo (SUNY) where she designed, directed, and taught an innovative program in critical thinking. She also taught philosophy through literature in seminars for the University Honors Program. In addition to teaching, Dr. Schapiro co-authored College Transition, a Critical Thinking Approach (Houghton Mifflin, 2001) and an article on the relative merits of strategic and dynamic approaches to learning. (Journal of Innovative Education, Spring 2000) Dr. Schapiro lives in Buffalo, New York with her husband. There she welcomes visits from her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Between visits she works on a number of projects, her favorite being the story of Brigadoon’s Luck.
