He also submitted the story outlines that became The War Machines, The Wheel in Space and The Invasion. He formed a writing partnership with Gerry Davis and together they created the Cybermen. Gerry Davis (1930-1991) was a British television writer, best known for his contributions to the science-fiction genre. He also wrote for the soap operas Coronation Street and United! In the mid-1960s he was story editor for Doctor Who.
