"'Welcome to the Knight Bus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. Just stick out your wand hand, step on board and we can take you anywhere you want to go.'"

When the Knight Bus crashes through the darkness and screeches to a halt in front of him, it's the start of another far from ordinary year at Hogwarts for Harry Potter. Sirius Black, escaped mass-murderer and follower of Lord Voldemort, is on the run - and they say he is coming after Harry. In his first ever Divination class, Professor Trelawney sees an omen of death in Harry's tea leaves ... But perhaps most terrifying of all are the Dementors patrolling the school grounds, with their soul-sucking kiss ...

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite book of the series, solely because of Hermione. Watching her navigate the Time Turner, stand up to Malfoy, and walk out of a class demonstrated how much Hermione had grown since the first book and showed a glimpse of the brave and brilliant woman she would become.

I love Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban the most because it introduces you to the interesting fauna and flora of the world. Mandrakes what? Buckbeak who? Awesome. Book three is also the best because that's where it starts to get weird.

Reviews

This book (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) is my absolute favorite in this series! I’m a little biased because Sirius Black is my favorite character, but that is not the only reason why it’s my favorite. First off, Dementors are really super scary. They suck out people’s souls! Which is really messed up. As if poor little child Harry hasn’t gone through enough in the last two years, now he’s basically being followed by soul suckers. Jerks. But that’s just the beginning.

Those needing a hit of magic, morality and mystical worlds can do no better than opening Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets...Older readers will be able to bite into these meaty themes of racism and suspicion of strangers. But younger readers and those looking for the simple pleasures of a delightful read will be thrilled to be back at the fabulously witchy world of Hogwarts.
