Stig trained at as an actor at the Chimera School of acting in Perth, WA, and then in New York with acclaimed theatre actor Uta Hagen. He returned to Australia in 1989 and was instantly cast in the Channel Ten sitcom Col'n Carpenter. As well as working consistently in television, Stig's acting career has taken him into the theatre, playing such roles as Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Peter Pan in Peter Pan the Pantomime.

As a young actor, Stig worked with Nicole Kidman on Windrider and Deborah Lee-Furness in the acclaimed Australian feature Shame. Probably the area of performance that Stig is most well-known for his voice work, including radio and television commercials, animation series, corporate narration and, of course, audiobook narration. In fact, Stig has narrated hundreds of audio books.

As well as being one of Australia's most loved narrators, Stig is also a writer and the CEO of a video production company, Mezzanine Productions.
