Learn moreThere's another side to AFL legends such as Jason Dunstall, Shane Crawford and James Hird - not to mention Kevin Sheedy's little quirks...
Have you heard the story about the time Sheeds had to play the part of one of the Three Little Pigs? Or how hysterical chickens found their way into Bomber Thompson's new car during training? Who put white powder in the Essendon doctor's bag that was then detected at the airport? And why is John Platten a 'footy-trip legend'? Paul Salmon - the Big Fish - knows the answers. And shares them in this collection of the funniest incidents that have happened on and off the field in his long football career.
Paul Salmon is a former Australian rules footballer. Recruited from North Ringwood, the 206cm (6' 9") Salmon was, at the time, along with Carlton's Justin Madden, the tallest man to play AFL football. Affectionately known as 'Fish', Salmon was a well known ruckman over a very long period of time in the Australian Football League.
Paul Salmon is one of the most decorated champions of the Australian Football League, having played for over 18 years for Essendon and Hawthorn and retiring at the end of 2000 after 309 games. His honours include two day Premierships, three night Premierships, three All-Australian selections, two club Best & Fairests, a Tassie Medal, a Michael Tuck Medal and selection in Hawthorn's Team of the Century. Paul, who was Victoria's Father of the Year in 2000, is married and has three children.
