Romayne Kazmer is a world traveler. She attributes her love of travel and curiosity of the world to her year abroad in 1959/60 studying at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and summer school at the University of Oslo in Norway. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East at that time. After returning home to her small town, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, she completed her studies at the University of Colorado. She then moved to New York City with all her lifeโs belongings. At 23, she was still fascinated by the world she had experienced and wanted to see it all. Taking a leave of absence from her job and with her lifeโs savings, Romayne traveled around the world alone. It is remarkable that this small town girl shares her insights and memories from the year that changed her life.
