Following graduation from Washington University, she taught children with special needs, then ESL (English as a Second Language) at a Jewish Day School. She lives in Greensboro, North Carolina with her husband. They have three children.

Kirby Heyborne is an Earphones award-winning narrator as well as an acclaimed film and television actor. The cofounder and director of the celebrated Los Angeles–based improv comedy group The Society, he is also a successful musician who has released four solo albums and has had his music featured in many films.
