The Death of Ivan Ilyich

Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy (1828-1910), usually referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer from an aristocratic family. He took part in the Crimean war and after the defense of Sevastopol wrote The Sevastopol Sketches (1855-6), which established his literary reputation. He is the author, among many other works, of War and Peace (1869) and Anna Karenina (1877), often cited as pinnacles of realistic fiction.

David Shaw-Parker trained at RADA and began his career at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since then, he has frequently appeared on stage, including in London's West End and at The National Theatre. In addition to stage work, he has numerous television and film credits, including Endeavour, Victoria, The Crown, Kafka, and The Muppets' Christmas Carol. As a voiceover artist, he records radio dramas and audiobooks regularly.
