Cap’n Bill, a little girl named Trot, and Button-Bright are marooned in Jinxland, a mountainous region adjacent to Oz but separated by a bottomless chasm. While there, they get embroiled in a political rivalry between good King Kynd and the notorious usurper Krewl. When the Scarecrow gets wind of the trouble via Glinda’s Great Book of Records (a kind of precursor to the internet), he joins the fight between good and evil. The ninth in the Oz books series, it was adapted from the 1914 silent film His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz.

Lyman Frank Baum (1856 - 1919) was an American author, actor, and independent filmmaker best known as the creator, along with illustrator W. W. Denslow, of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, one of the most popular books in American children's literature. He wrote thirteen Oz sequels, nine other fantasy novels, and scores of other works; 55 novels, 82 short stories, over 200 poems, an unknown number of scripts, as well as many miscellaneous writings.

George Newbern has appeared in Father of the Bride, Father of the Bride II, Evening Star, Adventures in Babysitting, and many other films. On television, he has had roles on Scandal, Friends, Nip/Tuck, Hot in Cleveland, CSI, and more. He is also known for providing the voice of Superman in Justice League and for narrating audiobooks.
