She began her career with a series of short stories before publishing her first novel, the National Book Award-nominated Rough Strife. Her short fiction has appeared in the Best American Short Stories annual anthology series, and her reviews and criticism have appeared in numerous publications. A faculty member of the Bennington Writing Seminars, she lives in New York City.
Neil Hellegers is a narrator, actor, and educator who lives in Brooklyn with his wife, son, and mutt. His voice work can be heard in various commercials, video games, and numerous audiobooks.
