Preciosa has hair that won’t stay straight, won’t be confined. Rudine’s hair resists rollers, flat irons, and rules. Together, the girls play hair salon! They take inspiration from their moms, their neighbors, their ancestors, and cultural icons. They discover that their hair holds roots of the past and threads of the future.

Victoria Rodriguez is a multilingual opera singer who has sung domestically and internationally. Her adoration of the written word led her to discover her talent for narrating a variety of audiobook genres. Originally from El Paso, Texas, she currently resides in Brooklyn.

Eboni Flowers is an actress, singer, audiobook narrator, and teaching artist from Montgomery, Alabama. She was first bitten by the acting bug in a typical story of auditioning for the elementary school play in third grade and booking the lead role.
