The Mystery of the Stolen Sword: The Aldens are excited to visit their friend Seymour Curtis, who lives on a farm that’s rumored to be haunted! When they arrive, they learn that valuable antiques have gone missing. Is the thief someone who Seymour knows? Or is it a ghost seeking revenge? The Boxcar Children have another mystery to solve!

The Basketball Mystery: The Aldens are in a community basketball league, and Buzz and Tipper Nettleton, Greenfield’s most famous basketball stars, are coaching their teams! But Tipper’s Most Valuable trophy is missing, and Buzz’s practice schedules get mixed up. Is somebody trying to foul up the community league?

The Movie Star Mystery: While Tate Radison was filming his last movie, a lot of odd things happened. So he wants to keep his presence in Greenfield a secret to avoid any more mishaps. But soon, the troubles start again. Why would someone want to ruin Tate’s career? It’s another mystery for the Boxcar Children!

The Boxcar Children series was created by Gertrude Chandler Warner, a teacher, when she realized that there were few, if any, books for children that were both easy and fun to read. She drew on her own experiences in writing the mysteries. As a child, she had spent hours watching trains near her home, and often dreamed about what it would be like to live in a caboose or freight car. In each story, she chose a special setting and introduced unpredictable, unusual or eccentric characters, to help highlight the Aldens’ independence and resourcefulness. Miss Warner lived in Putnam, Massachusetts until her death in 1979.
