At a time of fierce political divisiveness, From Here to Security is a refreshingly balanced, non-ideological guide to solving what may be our nation's most pressing policy challenge: achieving retirement security for all.

A pioneer of the 401(k) system, Robert L. Reynolds eschews radical calls for throwing out the 401(k) entirely and creating a new government-run savings system. Our best course, he shows, is to build on what we have: a flexible, dynamic private-public system of Social Security and more robust workplace savings. From Here to Security provides a clear, powerful new approach to solving America's retirement challenge—based on facts, data, and Reynolds's decades of experience.

While fearmongers claim that the US retirement system is on the verge of collapse; Reynolds shows why our system is actually the envy of the world. But From Here to Security is no status quo book.

Reynolds lays out an action agenda to dramatically improve our retirement systems—public and private—lift our savings rate, improve people's retirement prospects, spur faster growth—and reboot America's national morale.

Robert L. Reynolds is president and chief executive officer of both Putnam Investments and Great-West Financial, which owns Empower Retirement, America's second largest provider of retirement services with over eight million participants. He has been a driving force for innovation in retirement services and policy for decades and played a central role in the rise of the 401(k) industry during his years at Fidelity investments where he served as vice chairman and chief operating officer. He has earned multiple industry honors over the years, including Fund Leader of the Year in 2010 for the strategic improvements he initiated at Putnam.

Scott R. Pollak has over forty years of narration/broadcast/on-air experience, having started his career with public radio in New Orleans in the late 1970s. Currently he is the "voice" of NPR Atlanta (WABE-FM) for over thirteen years. He is the narrator of more than 175 audiobooks and has worked on voice-over projects for literally hundreds of corporate clients, including UPS, Xerox, American Express, AT&T, Hewlett-Packard, Publix, Humana, McGraw-Hill, BP, Microsoft, Liberty Mutual, Pandora radio, Staples, Wells-Fargo, Volkswagen, and many, many more. Scott has been a full-time freelance voice professional for the past twenty years, working from his in-home studio and having his work double and triple checked by his beautiful audio editor, his wife of more than thirty years.
