Summary

The bandit cat desired to become evil, and then everything went wrong. One of Pombo's most famous fables is the basis for this delightful dramatization. Pombo was a poet born in Bogota, Colombia. He studied engineering, became a diplomat, was a member of Parliament, and is considered to be one of the greatest poets and narrators of Spanish-American romanticism. He achieved his greatest popularity with the children's stories included in his book Cuentos Rimados, such as "Simón El Bobito", "Doña Pánfaga", "Renacuajo paseador", "Cutufato y su gato", "Pastorcita", "La Pobre Viejecita", and "El niño y la mariposa".
