Summary

Adventures of a Boy and a Mouse backstage in Canada's most famous theatre
Aspiring actor 10-year-old Adrian travels by ship across the Atlantic Ocean from England to Canada. Unbeknownst to him hiding in his luggage is a mouse he named Tiddlywinks who also wants to act. Without food, attacked by dangerous rats Tiddlywinks barely survives the trip.
Against his fatherโ€™s wishes Adrian secretly auditions for a part in Richard III at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival Theatre. Poor Tiddlywinks becomes trapped in a shoe-box, then lost alone backstage where he encounters a troupe of mice that are producing Shakespeare's play The Tempest.
Step onstage and join them as they chase their dreams.
The audio book is brilliantly brought to life by the distinguished Canadian director and actor, Michael Bawtree.

Schools use this book to entertain and teach their young students about acting, auditions and Shakespearean plays.
โ€œWhat started out as a fun bedtime story for his children author John S. Hayes, an original member of the Stratford Shakespearean Festival skillfully based his characters on the personalities of the real directors, actors, and designers he worked with in the very early days of Canadaโ€™s renowned theatre.โ€
A ten-year-old Child's Review:
"I loved this book because it kept me interested throughout the entire story... I enjoyed how the two main characters (Adrian and Tiddlywinks) followed the same story line, but from different points of view. Another thing I enjoyed about it was how Adrian kept on trying to reach his goal, even though people kept on telling him he shouldnโ€™t act. I really loved this book and I think you would tooโ€
