Me: My childhood was stolen by a monster. I've forgotten what love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.

Him: He's possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn't speak. He doesn't smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him, but I'm not. He's the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too. Everything . . .

Carian Cole is the author of the Ashes & Embers series, which includes the novels Storm, Vandal, Lukas, and Talon. Born and raised in New Jersey, she now lives in New Hampshire with her husband and a multitude of pets.

Guy Locke has been a happy nomad for most of his life, having lived throughout the United States and Canada and adventured across Europe and Asia. A lover of the beauty of language, he is also an avid fan of hockey and baked goods. He can usually be found by some body of water or other, seeing how long he can hold his breath.

After sailing around the world and watching nearly a thousand sunsets from the bow of her boat like a true Viking, Ava Erickson settled down and started telling stories. Those stories can be anything from the sweetest romances to ones with a more erotic twist. When she found out she was nominated for an Audie in the Erotica category, she called all her girlfriends together and went to Provence, France, where they drank rose and ate lots of bread and butter.
