Learn morePlaywright Mark Dunn presents four audio plays about Southern women.
In Dix Tableaux, two women chart the course of each otherโs lives, nurturing a friendship that, in the end, becomes the strongest and most sustaining of their lives.
Van Choc Straw is a bittersweet comedy about tenuous family ties and the often stronger bonds of friendship that lattice the final years of our lives.
Inspired by My Fair Lady, PIGmalion tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, who sells pork rinds and dreams of working as a waitress at โone of those nice downtown barbecue restaurants where all the tourists go.โ
Deep in the Heart is a serious comedy about the value of family and friendship, the importance of self-forgiveness, and the special healing joy that comes to those who know how to โdrink life to the dregs.โ
Mark Dunn, originally from Memphis, is the author of more than thirty full-length plays, over a dozen of which have been published in acting edition. Belles and Five Tellers Dancing in the Rain have together received over two hundred productions throughout the world. He is also the author of several books, including the award-winning novel, Ella Minnow Pea. Now living in Santa Fe with his wife, Mary, Dunn continues to divide time between writing for the page and the stage, and has a special interest in telling stories about his native Southland.
