One of P. G. Wodehouse's most enticing later works, Barmy in Wonderland is a gem of a novel from the master of social satire and comedy.

Cyril Fotheringay-Phipps, known to his friends as Barmy, has made a poor decision. He has invested ten thousand dollars in a stage production that seems doomed from the start in order to be near the woman of his dreams—Miss Dinty Moore. Will he find true love, or merely lose a fortune?

Featuring a cast of sharply drawn characters, from haughty film stars and monstrous producers to detestable critics and total divas, Barmy in Wonderland is a brilliant satire on life behind the curtains.

P. G. Wodehouse (1881–1975) was an English humorist who wrote novels, short stories, plays, poems, song lyrics, and numerous pieces of journalism. He is best known for his stories of Bertie Wooster and his servant Jeeves and for his settings of English upper-class society of the pre– and post–World War I era.

Simon Vance (a.k.a. Robert Whitfield) is an award-winning actor and narrator. He has earned more than fifty Earphones Awards and won the prestigious Audie Award for best narration thirteen times. He was named Booklist’s very first Voice of Choice in 2008 and has been named an AudioFile Golden Voice as well as an AudioFile Best Voice of 2009. He has narrated more than eight hundred audiobooks over almost thirty years, beginning when he was a radio newsreader for the BBC in London. He is also an actor who has appeared on both stage and television.

Reviews

“Wodehouse’s idyllic world can never stale. He will continue to release future generations from captivity that may be more irksome than our own. He has made a world for us to live in and delight in.”

“Wodehouse’s novels are the very definition of British humor—bubblingly witty and dryly loony.”

“To enjoy this novel, you must delight in brittle turns of phrase and have a taste for a pocket full of wry.”
