Born into poverty in southwest Virginia in 1883, Oliver Napoleon Hill was encouraged to write by his stepmother and soon discovered a talent for it. He began working as a โmountain reporterโ for small-town newspapers and went on to become Americaโs most beloved motivational author. His classic book Think and Grow Rich had sold twenty million copies by the time of Hillโs death in 1970 and remains a cornerstone of the modern self-actualization movement. Before passing, Hill established the Napoleon Hill Foundation as a nonprofit educational institution, whose mission is to perpetuate his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievement.
