The bestselling Go the F*** to Sleep has been translated into over thirty languages worldwide. Now it is finally translated for Jamaican and other Caribbean parents of the world.

Go de Rass to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don't always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland. Profane, affectionate, and radically honest, California Book Award–winning author Adam Mansbach's verses perfectly capture the familiar—and unspoken—tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night. In the process, they open up a conversation about parenting, granting us permission to admit our frustrations and laugh at their absurdity.

Go de Rass to Sleep is beautiful, subversive, and pants-wettingly funny—a book for parents new, old, and expectant. You probably should not read it to your children.

Adam Mansbach is the author of the instant New York Times bestsellers Go the F**k to Sleep and You Have to F**king Eat, as well as the novels The Dead Run, Rage Is Back, Angry Black White Boy, and The End of the Jews, the winner of the California Book Award. He was the 2009–2011 New Voices Professor of Fiction at Rutgers University, a 2012 Sundance Screenwriting Lab Fellow, a 2013 Berkeley Repertory Theater Writing Fellow, and a 2015 Artist in Residence at Stanford University's Institute for Diversity in the Arts. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, the New York Times Book Review, Esquire, and The Believer, and on National Public Radio's All Things Considered. He lives in Berkeley, California.

Shaggy exploded onto the music scene in 1993 with his debut album Pure Pleasure. He released his sophomore album, Boombastic (1995), which was certified platinum and won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album. In 2000 he released his fourth album, Hot Shot, which went Diamond worldwide and Platinum six times in the United States. Notable singles from that album included “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” “It Wasn’t Me” received a Grammy nomination. In 2008 he developed the Shaggy Foundation, which has helped raise more than $85 million for the Bustamante hospital in Jamaica. In September 2013, Sly & Robbie Presents Shaggy was released as a collaboration album entitled “Out of Many, One Music.” The album has already received tremendous feedback from industry tastemakers.

Kwame Dawes was born in Ghana and raised in Jamaica. He is the author of more than a dozen books of poetry and many books of fiction, nonfiction, criticism, and drama, including Gomer’s Song. He is also the editor of several anthologies of poetry, including So Much Things to Say.

Her books are part of the BookStart Jamaica early childhood program given to newborns by the government of Jamaica, as well as the Literacy 123 collection used in Jamaican primary schools. She is also the author of the popular Little Lion series. She serves on the boards of the National Library of Jamaica, the Early Childhood Commission, and the Book Industry Association of Jamaica.

“No matter what the country or the language, parents all over the world—loving, frustrated, exhausted parents—know what Adam Mansbach means. Since 2011 his comically obscene picture book has sold more than 1.5 million copies in dozens of languages, from Afrikaans to Japanese to Nynorsk.”

“A new bible for weary parents.”

“Delightfully obscene.”

“Nothing has driven home a certain truth about my generation, which is approaching the apex of its childbearing years, quite like this deranged book.”

“A parenting zeitgeist…A phenomenon that has stunned the publishing world and may just redefine the modern ‘parenting’ market.”
