Take a seat in the court of ancient Athens as Socrates goes on trial for his life. Hear the philosopher face his accusers with his trademark wit, his cutting logic, and the courage of his ideals. Consider his arguments on virtue, justice, politics, civic duty, love of life, and hope in death, and make your own judgment.

Think. Question. Change.

Plato (circa 423โ€“347 BC) was a philosopher in ancient Greece and the founder of the Academy in Athens, the first institution of higher learning in the Western world. Plato, together along with his teacher, Socrates, and his most famous student, Aristotle, laid the foundations of Western philosophy and science. He is widely considered the most pivotal figure in the development of philosophy, especially philosophy of the Western tradition.

Reviews

โ€œA superhuman effort on the part of the actor in a splendid coordination of text, movement, and speech.โ€

โ€œSocrates unbound! One uniquely obsessed and multitalented actor has set himself the decidedly idiosyncratic mission of proving the transcendent dramatic power of the ancient philosopher.โ€
