Bestselling author and internationally known lecturer Thomas Moore finds people everywhere he goes who express unhappiness with their work lives and ask, “Why am I doing what I’m doing?” In A Life at Work, Moore takes listeners through the transformative process of discovering their deepest purpose in life.

In exploring the strong desire in all of us to feel fulfilled by our work, Moore offers no charts or questionnaires but rather a personal, contemplative guide to traversing obstacles such as inflated egos, despair, and fear that prevent us from finding purpose in our careers. He also shares the struggles of great thinkers and artists who grappled with uncertainty before finding their calling. For those who feel dissatisfied and question the path they’ve chosen, this poignant, practical work will help them discover new answers.

Thomas Moore is the author of the bestselling Care of the Soul and twenty other books on spirituality and depth psychology that have been translated into thirty languages. He has been practicing depth psychotherapy for thirty-five years. He lectures and gives workshops in several countries on depth spirituality, soulful medicine, and psychotherapy. He has been a monk and a university professor, and is a consultant for organizations and spiritual leaders. He has often been on television and radio, most recently on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday.

Since beginning his narrating career in 1996, Lloyd James (also known as Sean Pratt) has been credited with more than 600 audiobooks. He has earned several awards, including six Audiofile Earphones Awards and two nominations for the Audie Award. His performances include Once There Was a War by John Steinbeck, Encounters with Jesus and Every Good Endeavor by Timothy Keller, and Elvis in the Morning by William F. Buckley Jr. He lives in Maryland with his wife and their children.
