If you are one of the seventy million Americans counting on your 401(k) plan to usher you into a comfortable old age, you're likely to be bitterly disappointed. Rather than benefit the employee, 401(k) plans reward employers, brokers, investment advisors, fund managers, insurance companies, unions, and lobbyists. Relying on these plans makes it increasingly difficult to retire comfortably.

In his straightforward, no-nonsense style, bestselling author Daniel R. Solin offers the new rules for investing for retirement. He shows readers how to quickly and simply determine their own needs, get control of their assets, avoid scams and sucker bets, discover untapped resources at retirement, and eventually get income out of tax-deferred plans the smart way.

Daniel R. Solin graduated from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He is the author of the Smartest series which include The Smartest Investment Book Youโ€™ll Ever Read, The Smartest 401(k) Book Youโ€™ll Ever Read, The Smartest Retirement Book Youโ€™ll Ever Read, The Smartest Portfolio Youโ€™ll Ever Own and The Smartest Money Book Youโ€™ll Ever Read. Solin is also the coauthor of Mandatory Arbitration of Securities Disputes, which examines the fairness of the mandatory arbitration system imposed on investors by the securities industry. He testified before a congressional subcommittee investigating the mandatory arbitration system.

Arthur Morey has won three AudioFile Magazine โ€œBest Ofโ€ Awards, and his work has garnered numerous AudioFile Earphones Awards and placed him as a finalist for two Audie Awards. He has acted in a number of productions, both off Broadway in New York and off Loop in Chicago. He graduated from Harvard and did graduate work at the University of Chicago. He has won awards for his fiction and drama, worked as an editor with several book publishers, and taught literature and writing at Northwestern University. His plays and songs have been produced in New York, Chicago, and Milan, where he has also performed.
