Considered a master of the short story, Saki was best known for his witty and mischievous stories that satirized the culture and society of Edwardian England. In "The Open Window," his best-known vignette, a teenage girl regales the tale of an eerie family tragedy to a high-strung visitor, who receives something of a shock.

Proceeds from sale of this title go to Reach Out and Read, an innovative literacy advocacy organization.

Saki was the pen name of the British writer Hector Hugh Munro (1870โ€“1916). In addition to his short stories, of which he was an acknowledged master, he also wrote a full-length play,ย The Watched Pot, in collaboration with Charles Maude; two one-act plays; a historical study,ย The Rise of the Russian Empire; a short novel,ย The Unbearable Bassington; a parody ofย Alice in Wonderland,ย The Westminster Alice; and a fantasy about England under German occupation,ย When William Came.

Gary Dikeos is a voice actor and audiobook narrator living in Los Angeles. In addition to narrating audiobooks, he voices television commercials, documentaries, and animation projects.
