While searching for a new apartment, Dr. Felix Hoffmann finds a beautiful condo offered at a tremendous bargain. But then he learns the property belongs to one of his geriatric patients, a man he rescued from the brink of death just the day before—and who never listed his condo for sale.

Together with his vivacious girlfriend, Celine, Felix unearths a conspiracy to fleece elderly patients, then hasten their deaths. Could one of his trusted hospital coworkers be behind the wicked scheme? And when the intrepid doctor unexpectedly becomes a patient in his own hospital, he’ll need to crack the case quickly before the killer makes his rounds.

The second novel in the acclaimed Dr. Hoffmann series, He Who Dies Last prescribes a healthy dose of thrills and excitement to medical mystery fans.

Cardiologist and Agatha Christie prize-winning author Christoph Spielberg lives in Berlin, Germany, where his mystery novels have gained national notoriety. Spielberg was awarded the prestigious Friedrich Glauser prize from the German Crime Writers Association for The Russian Donation, the first in his ongoing Dr. Hoffmann crime series, and his books have been translated into both English and Japanese.

Critical acclaim for the Dr. Hoffmann series has prompted the German ZDF television network to produce a run of TV movies based on the novels. Today, Spielberg continues to draw from his medical experience, writing novels, short stories, and providing medical care to his patients.
