Yet he could not prevent violence or save anyone from becoming a refugee; he could only step in afterward and try to ease the damage.
So Eric joined the Navy SEALs and became an elite warrior. Duke Scholar and was awarded a Truman and a Rhodes scholarship to attend Oxford University, where he won a gold medal at the BUSA National Boxing Championships and earned a Ph.D. His research led to humanitarian work around the world, including in Rwanda, Albania, Mexico, India, Croatia, Bolivia, and Cambodia. In 2001, Eric joined the Navy SEALs and deployed four times during the global war on terror. His military awards include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. When Eric returned from Iraq, he founded The Mission Continues, America's leading organization for helping wounded and disabled warriors to serve their country again as citizen leaders here at home.
