The plan was simple. Ethan Cheeseman, along with his three smart, polite, and relatively odor-free children, would travel back in time to end a family curse and save their mother. Now that the LVR (a super-secret time machine) is working, it’s easy peasy. Except they didn’t account for one basic rule of science: Murphy’s Law—if something can go wrong, it will.

The LVR crashes, with a meteor-sized hole in its roof. They’ve made it to 1668, but they’re stuck in the middle of nowhere, without a way back home, and someone thinks they’re weetches—er, witches. Could it get any worse? How about when they encounter a pirate ship, a haunted castle, and two mysterious visitors—one there to rescue the family, the other, mmm...not so much.

Our trusty narrator, Dr. Soup, has a ton of unsolicited advice for listeners but not a lot to say to help the Cheesemans. Just this one thing:

GOOD LUCK.

Before becoming an author and advisor, Dr. Cuthbert Soup held many other fun and rewarding jobs. For a brief time he worked at the mall as a smoke detector but was eventually replaced by a machine. A talented musician, he then moved to New York City and landed a gig playing elevator music. He was fired, however, when his trombone kept smacking other people in the elevator. Currently the founder and president of the National Center for Unsolicited Advice, Dr. Soup resides in a semisecret location with his dog, Kevin, and his two pet snails, Gooey and Squishy. In his spare time he enjoys cajoling, sneering, and practicing the trombone in crowded areas. This is his first book.
