After studying art history at Brown University, she lived in Nantucket, where she got married. When her kids started school the family moved to Chicago, and Blue began teaching third grade at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She is the author of the art-inspired mysteries Chasing Vermeer, The Calder Game, and The Wright Three.
