“Take me to Eloraton! This book gave me all the comfort of watching The Princess Bride for the 20th time--knowing each character's story gets a fitting end, and true love will vanquish over all. Not mention, reveling in a pretty spectacular twist when we learn who our main man really is. Poston knows her romancelandian audience is able to grasp the backstories of each of the side characters and builds a whole town inside of that. I just love how that trust lends itself to the fullness of their characters, and to a cast that you feel like you already know. And much like what I love about Emily Henry's last couple of stories, Eileen's friendship with Pru is the true, steady love story of the novel and shines bright. This novel has such a gem of a foundation that is only strengthened by the unexpected turns, earnest romanticism, and (my favorite of all) an unabashed return to flowery compliments. Like yes Anders give me sonnets, and monologuing, and swoony eye contact--this is a romance after all! Just absolutely stunning! ”
